Do you serve breakfast?

No, we do not serve breakfast at The Star Inn The Harbour

Are you dog friendly?

Dogs, other than Assistance Dogs, are not permitted in the carpeted area of the Dining Room, however, well-behaved dogs are welcome on the tables within the allocated wooden floored area.

We strongly recommend that diners bringing their canine companions should book in advance. This can be done online, please add a note to the booking advising us and a table in the wooden floored area will be allocated. Please note our capacity in this area is very limited. Water can be provided; owners are expected to clean up any dog waste and to dispose of this appropriately.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Guests are encouraged to notify us of any food allergies, intolerances, or any special dietary needs at the time of booking and, in any case, prior to ordering.

Is the restaurant wheelchair friendly?

Yes, the restaurant is accessible using a wheelchair. There is also a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Do you have a private dining area?

We have a private dining area at The Star Inn The Harbour. This is located on the ground floor with a capacity of 10 guests. Please email or call for more information.

Do you take a deposit upon booking?

No, we do not take a deposit when booking, however we require credit card details to secure your booking. These are held securely by a third party (Stripe) and no charge is made unless the party does not arrive for the booking without prior cancellation of the booking.

In the event of a ‘No Show’, a charge of £20 per person will be made using the card details.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations for groups up to 6 people should be made no later than 24 hours prior to the booking. Larger parties of 7 or more are expected to give a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Failure to do so will result in a £20 per person charge to the card supplied at the time of booking.

How do I book a table & group bookings?

You can easily book a table via our booking system on our website. If the booking is 7+ people, we ask you to email info@starinntheharbour.co.uk or call 01947 821900 to secure your booking.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes, we do take walk-ins but we strongly advise that you book to avoid disappointment.

Can you book for drinks only?

We do not take any reservations for drinks only, we do take walk ins for drinks on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Is there a service charge?

A discretionary service charge of 10% will be added to your bill, this is shared between all members of staff.

Do you accept AMEX?

Do you offer accommodation?

We do not offer any accommodation at The Star Inn the Harbour Whitby.

Do you have onsite parking?

There is no on-site parking at The Star Inn The Harbour. The closest car parks are Endeavour Wharf Car Park at the rear of the restaurant or at Whitby Train Station.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, you can purchase gift vouchers here.

Is there a dress code?

We do not have a dress code however we have found most diners choose to dress ‘smart-casual’ when visiting. We operate a strict no fancy dress policy.

Do you allow table decorations?

We welcome some table decorations for reservations including place cards, balloons, and cakes only.

Please note that we do not allow table confetti of any kind or banners.

Do you cater for hen or stag parties?

In consideration of our other diners, we do not accept bookings for ‘Stag’ or ‘Hen’ parties.
